At Childwall Church of England Primary School, we have developed a strong ethos where sport and physical activity are a valued and integral part of school life. We celebrate and nurture all pupils’ sporting achievements, engagement and talents, and we strive to ensure that every child develops a positive, lifelong relationship with physical activity and sport.
We are committed to providing high-quality PE, a wide range of sporting opportunities and inclusive physical activity for all pupils.
Use of the Primary PE and Sport Premium
We allocate our Primary PE and Sport Premium strategically, in line with the five key indicators set out by the Department for Education:
Key Indicator 1:
The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity.
(Chief Medical Officers’ guidelines recommend that children undertake at least 30 minutes of physical activity during the school day.)
Key Indicator 2:
The profile of Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) being raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement.
Key Indicator 3:
Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.
Key Indicator 4:
A broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities offered to all pupils.
Key Indicator 5:
Increased participation in competitive sport.
