Learning to read is the foundation for all educational success. We aim to ensure that all our children not only have the opportunity to learn to read (a time-limited skill) but that they also become lifelong readers for purpose and pleasure. They will become people who not only can read, but do read from choice, a wide variety of texts on paper and on screen.

At Childwall, we believe that writing is an essential life skill. It is our goal to enable every child to achieve this to the best of their ability, through a rich, vibrant and exciting curriculum.

We believe that spelling accurately and understanding the structure of the English language are essential life skills. We continually aspire to offer a rigorous, in-depth curriculum that teaches all the strategies/rules needed to enable each individual child to succeed at their own level, becoming confident and competent spellers.
