Equality Objectives

Childwall CE Primary School – Equality Objectives 2024–2028

(Informed by the Ofsted EDI Evaluation Toolkit 2024, IDSR context, IQM Centre of Excellence status and UNICEF RRSA principles)

Objective 1: Strengthen progress, participation and high expectations for pupils with SEND

Objective:
To narrow SEND attainment gaps by at least 10% and ensure proportionate SEND participation in all wider opportunities.

Why this is needed:
Rising EHC numbers and sustained SEN Support levels require proactive inclusion, as highlighted in the Ofsted EDI Toolkit.

How success will be measured:
Internal data shows reduced gaps and participation tracking confirms SEND pupils access opportunities in line with whole-school proportions.

Objective 2: Enhance representation, belonging and cultural inclusion across the curriculum and school environment

Objective:
To ensure 90%+ of pupils report that the curriculum and school life reflect and value diverse identities.

Why this is needed:
Low local diversity means representation must be intentionally built into the curriculum to meet Ofsted EDI expectations.

How success will be measured:
Pupil surveys and curriculum audits show increased representation and positive perceptions of belonging.

Objective 3: Remove hidden barriers and secure equitable access to enrichment for disadvantaged or vulnerable pupils

Objective:
To guarantee that 100% of identified disadvantaged or vulnerable pupils access at least one enrichment or leadership opportunity annually.

Why this is needed:
Very low FSM/CIN numbers can conceal individual disadvantage, requiring targeted monitoring as emphasised in the Ofsted EDI Toolkit.

How success will be measured:
Enrichment logs confirm full participation and pastoral tracking evidences improved engagement and access.
